beco is an architectural practice founded in 2017 by Jil Bentz and Giovanni Cozzani.

beco engages in architectural projects at different scales, for different uses, and through different phases.

beco’s work is based on research, accumulation, and debate.

Jil Bentz

(Luxembourg, Luxembourg) received an undergraduate degree in architecture with distinctions from the Technical University Munich, Germany. She received the highest honors for her diploma from the University of Arts in Berlin and for her postgraduate degree from Columbia University New York, USA. She worked with Nieto Sobejano, Sauerbruch Hutton and WorkAC. She taught in New York at Columbia and Barnard College and currently teaches with Professor Kersten Geers at EPFL Lausanne, Switzerland.

Giovanni Cozzani

(Rome, Italy) received the highest honor for his master’s degree in architecture from Sapienza University in Rome, Italy. He received the Award for Excellence in Design for postgraduate studies at Columbia University New York, USA. He worked with Mario Cucinella Architects and Selldorf Architects, and collaborated with Warehouse of Architecture and Research. He taught at Sapienza and Politecnico di Milano, was a critic in reviews at Columbia and NJIT. He currently teaches as Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia with Point Supreme.
